Naked and Afraid : A successful partnership

909 Productions (A Lagardère Studios’ company) and RMC Découverte partnered with Discovery to adapt Naked and Afraid in France.

The very first adaptation of the US format worldwide made great ratings on RMC Découverte’s prime time slot. After 6 weeks of broadcast, over 8 million people have watched the show.

Over this first season, the series reached an average of 512 000 viewers and 2.4% market share.

An increase of 43% compared to the average of the slot last season.

The Show is a Survival series. In each episode a new pair of strangers find themselves stranded in some of the world's harshest environments with no food, no water, no tools... and no clothes.As their extreme survival skills are put to the test for 21 days, each couple must battle the elements, each other, and their own inner weakness to triumph over the terrain and their predicament.

Lagardère Studios’ 909 Productions partners with Discovery Channel to adapt Naked and Afraid in France

909 Productions announced today it has acquired the license to adapt Discovery Channel’s successful format NAKED AND AFRAID in France for a series of 12 episodes which will air on a soon to be announced FTA channel, as well as on Discovery Channel France in second run. NAKED AND AFRAID FRANCE will be the very first adaptation of the US format worldwide. NAKED AND AFRAID takes the survival of the fittest to the next level where a pair of complete strangers, one man and one woman, will find themselves stranded in and quite literally exposed to one of the world's most extreme weather environments. The duo will be left high and dry with no food, no water and no clothes. They must survive on their own for a full 21 days, with nothing but one personal item each and the knowledge that the only prize is their pride and sense of accomplishment. The plucky couples will get acquainted with each other and their new surroundings very quickly, forcing them to question and test everything they may think they know about their acquired survival skills and instincts. But what happens when you put a man and a woman without clothes in one of the most remote areas of the world? 909 Productions and The Story Lab sign worldwide distribution deal for Safari Go!

Frédéric Joly, managing director of 909 Productions, a Lagardère Studios company and creator of the SAFARI GO! format, is pleased to announce the global distribution of the show, having just signed an agreement with The Story Lab (the content unit of Dentsu Aegis Network) for distribution in over twenty countries. Additionally, 909 Productions is entrusting the off-screen commercialization of the franchise to the diversification unit of Lagardère Active’s TV division. The first license agreements for publishing, toys and games have been signed to accompany upcoming broadcasts of the show. Frédéric Joly: “Since the creation of the format, we fully believed in the potential of SAFARI GO! to go global. I am very proud that this French creation will get to travel the world thanks to Story Lab’s handling of distribution”.
